Ricki Lake is providing her followers with a direct glimpse into her wellness voyage.

On February 24, Lake revealed on Instagram that she and her husband, Ross Burningham, had each shed more than 30 pounds over the past four months after resolving to pursue a "healthier" lifestyle toward the conclusion of 2023.

In her post, Lake posted several images chronicling their expedition, beginning with a picture of the pair embarking on their daily hike. Additionally, she included two snapshots of herself captured at the onset of their journey, followed by a photograph showcasing her weight loss while posing in workout attire in front of a mirror.

Lake elaborated further on her journey in the caption, addressing her followers directly, "I've been eager to update you on my activities over these past 4 months."

She continued, "On October 26th, 2023, I dedicated myself to becoming healthier. My husband, Ross, joined me in this endeavor. Together, we've each shed over 30 lbs."

Lake emphasized that she and Burningham accomplished this feat without resorting to pharmaceutical assistance, likely alluding to the trend among celebrities who rely on medications like Ozempic for weight-loss support.

"Not that there is anything wrong with that," she acknowledged. "But neither of us were pre-diabetic, and both of us felt like we wanted to at least try and do it on our own."

Expressing her initial concerns, she admitted, "I was a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to lose weight like I had in the past." She attributed her age, 55, and experiencing perimenopause, the period preceding menopause, as contributing factors.

"I am so, so proud of us. I feel amazing. I feel strong," she exclaimed. "I will delve deeper into another post regarding what I did exactly, but suffice to say, this is the healthiest way I've lost weight in all of my years."

Since New Year's Eve in 2019, Lake has been on a journey of "self-love and self-acceptance," a path she embarked on when she shaved her head due to hair loss. Three years later, she shared the "raw video footage" of that moment on Instagram for the first time.

"In this video, you can witness me reaching a state of peace, liberation, and, most importantly, self-love and self-acceptance," she expressed. "May all of you facing struggles also find a place of peace and acceptance. Life is too short."

Marking the four-year anniversary of shaving her head at the end of 2023, she reflected on Instagram, "My transformation went beyond the physical."

"I confronted one of my greatest fears that day," she reflected. "I will always recognize this anniversary and contemplate the growth and self-love that stemmed from my leap of faith."

Prior to embarking on her health journey, Lake celebrated her natural self in a June 2023 Instagram post. Posing nude in an outdoor tub, the former talk show host expressed feeling "grateful."

"Without a doubt, these are the best days of my life," she shared. "Grateful for everything that led me to this point. A place of complete self-acceptance and self-love."
