JoJo Siwa surprised audience members with her striking appearance when she unveiled a daring ensemble on the red carpet at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Prior to the iHeartRadio Music Awards on April 1st, the 20-year-old vocalist made her entrance on the red carpet adorned in a black unitard with a plunging neckline, crafted from mesh fabric and embellished with silver sequins and intricate lace accents. Instantly, social media platforms buzzed with reactions from viewers, with some struggling to identify the singer.
During an interview on the red carpet, the ex-"Dance Moms" personality acknowledged her dramatic shift in style, describing her attire as "epic" and "insane."
"This costume is like my baby," she elaborated.
Siwa emphasized that her all-black ensemble offers a glimpse into what fans can expect from her upcoming music. Her track "Karma" is scheduled for release on April 5.
"This is the outfit you'll see me wearing in the official 'Karma' music video," she revealed during her interview at the awards ceremony.
On social media platform X, users didn't shy away from sharing their opinions about her appearance.
"Someone should tell JoJo that this isn't working," remarked one user regarding her outfit.
"Why?? What happened to her?" another user questioned in response to her attire.
However, not everyone was critical of her look.
"No one knows how to make an entrance on the red carpet quite like JoJo Siwa," commented Canada's MuchMusic on her appearance.
Siwa appeared to have expected criticism for her new image.
"People tend to fear the unknown," she shared with E! News while on the red carpet. "New things can be quite intimidating for some individuals."
