Sydney and Trevor Milton kept their neighbor informed about their impending baby's arrival using a doorbell, and a compilation of these updates has captured the hearts of millions.

When Katie Newton realized that Sydney Milton’s due date, March 21, had passed, she began relying on her Ring doorbell for updates on her neighbor's pregnancy.

“Once it was the week of her due date, I was eager to know when their car would vanish and when they’d head to the hospital,” Newton, who resides in California, tells Yeppost.com.

After the due date came and went, and the car remained in the driveway, Newton and Sydney Milton coincidentally met in the hallway of their apartment complex.

“I bumped into her the day after her due date and mentioned, ‘I’m so tempted to check my Ring camera every time I receive a notification about movement at my door because I'm curious if it's you guys rushing out with your hospital bags ready for labor.’”

Following that encounter, the expectant parents began providing updates for their neighbor through her door's camera.

Newton noticed that whenever the couple passed by, they made sure to inform her if Sydney Milton was still pregnant. Over time, Newton collected these updates and assembled them into a video, which she posted on TikTok on April 2.

“Still pregnant,” Sydney Milton can be heard saying to the camera as she walks by Newton’s door.

“Still pregnant,” Trevor Milton says with a smile in another update.

“Still pregnant,” Sydney Milton says in another clip, gently rubbing her fully grown belly.

Finally, Sydney Milton is seen ascending the steps with her husband, who carries a baby carrier.

“We had the baby,” Sydney Milton whispers to the camera, her smile radiant.

Trevor Milton then lifts up the carrier for Newton to catch a glimpse of their new addition: a precious little girl.

“Not pregnant,” Trevor Milton whispers softly at the end of the clip, which has garnered over 5 million likes as of the evening of April 3.

“Oh, I was so emotional,” Newton reflects on the final update. “I just couldn't stop beaming. I was smiling from ear to ear. I thought it was the sweetest thing ever.”

Sydney Milton shares that her husband's words also stirred deep emotions within her. Their little one arrived on March 31, four minutes past midnight.

“I was definitely in a bit of a haze,” Sydney Milton recalls their return home. “It was overwhelming, but also, there was a sense of peace.”

With a 3-day-old baby in their arms, Sydney and Trevor Milton mention that they're getting less sleep but are filled with joy and touched by the responses to the video Newton shared.

“We’re the last people you'd expect to go viral,” Trevor Milton remarks on the online reaction to the video.

“I don’t use social media at all. And while my wife has Instagram, she rarely uses it. Often, I view social media as something divisive and harmful. But this experience has made me reconsider that perspective and see its beauty.”
