At the premiere of Don't Worry Darling in September 2022, the actor repeated his statement that his "kind" co-star Harry Styles had not ejected saliva on him.

The 42-year-old maintained in a Wednesday Esquire video that Harry had not spat on him, describing him as a very kind person.

Pine accepted the fact that the viral clips seemed to portray the 29-year-old former One Direction member as having spat in his face. He remembered, "I think Harry leaned down and said, 'It’s just words isn't it?' which meant that he approached Pine to make a joke. Pine added, "We were all exhausted by the timezone difference and struggling to answer questions. And sometimes when you are doing those interviews, you end up speaking nonsense, so we had a joke: 'It's just words.'"

Respect is the only thing between these two men, and any supposition of something else is a clear effort to generate drama that is nonexistent.
