Tamika Scott and LaTocha Scott-Bivens, her Xscape bandmate and sister, had a tumultuous altercation that was featured in Page Six's exclusive preview of Bravo's "SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B." This fight was sparked by Tamika's claims that LaTocha had taken $30,000.
Tamika, aged 47, sat with her mother, Gloria, to talk about the matter; she believed her mom has been exhibiting “favoritism” towards LaTocha, who is 49. “Tocha is hurt by you,” Gloria pointed out, to which her younger daughter responded, “No, she’s not.”
Gloria reprimands Tamika concerning her comments on LaTocha's partner, with regard to the siblings' dispute. "I only ever mention him when he meddles in my matters," Tamika states in the sneak peek.
In the initial episode, Tamika accused LaTocha and Bivens, 50, of depositing her checks, with a total of tens of thousands of dollars, into his bank account. They have strongly denied the assertion. In our excerpt, Gloria suggested that Tamika has created a fictitious tale to assist her rest, something which unnerved the vocalist.
Her voice boiling with rage, she exclaims, “He’s meddling in my life, taking away our money! Can I still sleep calmly?” Gloria quickly responds, “No one’s taking what is yours.”
Formed in 1991, Xscape, which consisted of Kandi Burruss and Tameka “Tiny” Harris, split up in 1998. The girl group — popular for such singles as “Just Kickin’ It” and “Who Can I Run To? ” — reunited in 2001 but went on hiatus five years later. However, they reunited in 2017 for a performance at the BET Awards, followed by their first Bravo docuseries, “Xscape: Still Kickin’ It.”
The four platinum-selling artists confront their difficulties while getting ready for a momentous live show on September 8, 2022, in Ontario, Canada. The concert was meant to launch their combined 43-city tour to commemorate 30 years in the industry. It is still uncertain as of March 2023 if the tour will still happen.
Burruss, 46, expressed at the Los Angeles premiere of “The Queens of R&B” that it was tough, revealing there were a multitude of matters that needed to be addressed throughout filming and still remain unresolved. Tamika suggested that the current state between she and LaTocha is in a more disarray state than when production initially began. Despite this, LaTocha believes that reconciliation is possible in the future.
The show will broadcast Sundays at 8 pm ET on Bravo.
