Kevin Hunter, Wendy Williams' former husband, has filed a motion in the New Jersey Superior Court on March 12, seeking nearly two years of unpaid spousal support from his ex-wife, especially in light of her recent diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia and aphasia.

Following their divorce in 2020, Williams allegedly owes Hunter nearly two years of spousal support that remains unpaid, according to his legal team's argument in the motion.

In recent years, Williams has been grappling with health challenges, including a diagnosis of primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, as announced by her care team in a press release earlier this year, subsequent to her split from Hunter.

The release highlighted concerns that have arisen over Wendy's cognitive abilities in recent years, including difficulties processing information, instances of erratic behavior, and struggles with financial transactions. It further stated that Wendy's diagnosis has facilitated access to necessary medical care.

According to Wendy's niece, Alex Finnie, Wendy is presently residing at a facility where she is undergoing treatment to address cognitive functioning issues, as reported by People in February.

In the recent Lifetime documentary titled "Where is Wendy Williams?" viewers observed Wendy experiencing challenges with cognition as she interacted with her staff and loved ones.

According to People, Wendy Williams currently has a court-appointed legal guardian responsible for managing her finances and overseeing her healthcare to prevent potential exploitation due to her cognitive challenges.

In the court documents, Hunter claims that he has not received his spousal support payments since January 2022.

"In this filing, it's imperative to address the urgency of the situation as my livelihood heavily relies on the spousal support payments for my day-to-day expenses. The absence of this income for 23 months has significantly impacted me," stated Hunter in the filing.

Williams' team did not provide an immediate response to YEPPOST.com's request for comment.

The Lifetime documentary shed light on Williams' financial struggles, a prominent theme throughout the film. Williams' manager, Will Selby, revealed in the documentary that a guardian was appointed for her due to her financial situation.

The documentary also detailed how Wells Fargo froze Williams' accounts, expressing concern over potential financial exploitation. The bank stated in its filing that there was reason to suspect Williams was a victim of undue influence and financial exploitation.

Regina Shell, a friend of Williams, questioned in the film who might have been exploiting Wendy, suggesting that someone close to her may have been involved.

According to a letter dated February 9 obtained by NBC News, an attorney representing Wells Fargo requested that the company's petition be filed under seal.
